I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Bring Your Calculator!

No:

  • It cannot have communication capabilities (no cell phones, iPods)
  • It cannot store information (cell phones, iPods, graphing calculators)
  • It must be yours (no sharing)

Yes:

  • If you buy a cheap calculator, I will keep it in a drawer for you (put your name on it)
  • These are the same rules I’ve been talking about all along… (and I’m losing my voice)

Click here if you don’t know when to bring it or why I’m reminding you again. (hint: Thursday)

Also: Some people are still not using the four steps (GUES) taught in class. I put a URL on the last two quizzes for some people. As of now, nobody has followed that link. Don’t expect me to keep giving partial credit if you are not going to try what I ask of you.

Got Abacus?

Don’t forget to bring your calculator for tomorrow’s quiz! Remeber: It cannot be a graphing calculator or any calculator that makes noise or can store information! (No iPods, No Cell Phones…) Calculators may not be shared either!

As usual, I will keep a cheap calculator in the room for you if you bring one. Only you can prevent forest fires can use it.

Yes, if you have an abacus you may use it on the quiz. Don’t ask me for help on how to use it – I’ve never used one. (slide rules ok too, but same rule)

Got Calculator?

If you don’t have a calculator for class yet, I found an ad for a scientific calculator at Milton SuperTarget for $9!

I’m not saying you have to buy THIS one – you might find a cheaper one similar to it somewhere else. You will need one that can do squares & square roots. Just remember – NO GRAPHING CALCULATORS during tests & quizzes. (and no sharing too)
